Netflix’s Andrew Dominik’s Marilyn Monroe biopic Blondie has revealed new developments.The film, which has been in production since 2019, has finally finished post production and editing.Netflix plans for “Blonde” to have a theatrical release and be in the running for awards season.Netflix hasn’t set a release date for the film, but Dominik revealed that the film is expected to make an out-of-competition screening at cannes in May.Andrew Dominik denied the graphic scenes, but confirmed there is a scene in the film where Monroe is assaulted.The plot, which was not originally written by Andrew Dominik, was taken from Joyce Carol Oates’s biographical novel of the same name.The most remarkable feature of this biography is that it is written in the form of a memoir, imitating Monroe’s tone.On the subject of Anna de Armas’ Cuban accent, Andrew Dominick explained that he did some work later to make Armas’s accent sound more American.
