The Charlotte Hornets continue their NBA regular season tour today against the Indiana Pacers. It was a very surprising game, because the Hornets’ attack was a bit surprising. The Hornets thumped the Pacers 158-126, turning a regular season game into an All-Star matchup. The game didn’t go into overtime, but it took the Hornets four quarters of the game to do so with super offensive efficiency. With 158 points in a game, the Hornets broke the previous record of 152 points held by the Memphis Grizzlies. The Hornets, meanwhile, set a franchise record by scoring 141 points in a game against the Los Angeles lakers in 1993.The Hornets did it, and their first credit goes to Oubre.Oubre scored 39 points on 12-of-18 shooting, including 10-of-15 from 3-point range, in 35 minutes, adding five rebounds, three assists and two steals.Oubre was relentless in the final quarter, hitting five 3-pointers for 15 points despite garbage time.Oubre wasn’t like that when he was with Golden State. He was a terrible outside shooter, even hitting his first Warriors 3-pointer after going 0-for-dozens.It’s hard to know what the Warriors were thinking when they were able to do that. The Pacers, who have been tough enough to lose most of their roster to a trade, played well on their recent road trip. The Pacers are having a hard time dealing with the sudden surge of the Hornets.
