Foreign media: US warns of high threat from extremist groups at home and abroad

Washington, Feb. 8 (Reuters) – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security warned on Tuesday that the United States faces a “high level of threat” from extremist groups at home and abroad.”Threats against historically black universities and other colleges, Jewish facilities, and churches raise concerns and may inspire extremist violence,” the advisory reportedly said.It said the United States remains in an environment of heightened threats and that “foreign terrorists remain intent on targeting the United States and Americans, and they may seek to exploit the changing security environment overseas to plot attacks.”The agency also warned that islamic State or affiliated groups could openly call for retaliation against the United States because of U.S. Special forces raids in Syria.(Translator & Editor: Feng Qin
